Days Until is an event countdown app: it keeps the dates that matter in one list and tells you, at a glance, how many days are left.
Add a trip, an exam or a birthday once, and the count is there every time you open it.
Your events, counted
- Countdowns to a one-off date: a trip, an exam, a move, a launch
- Birthday countdown: birthdays come round every year and show the age someone turns
- Anniversaries that show the number of years
- "Days since" events that count up from a date you want to remember
- Each event has an icon, a colour and a notes field; add a time of day if you like
- The list is sorted by what comes next and says "tomorrow", "in 12 days" or "3 years, 2 months ago"
- Open an event for the big day count, the same stretch in weeks and days or months and days, and a progress bar from the day you added a countdown to its date
- Share an event as a short line of text; archive past countdowns to keep the list tidy
A date calculator
- Days between dates, with the option to count the end day and to count business days only (Monday to Friday)
- Add or subtract days, weeks, months or years from any date; month ends are handled and explained
- Age calculator: years, months and days, the day of the week someone was born, and the next birthday
- The day of the week of any date, with its week around it
Reminders you choose
- For each event countdown: on the day, one day before, one week before, in any combination, at the time you pick
- Reminders are scheduled on your phone and set again after a restart. They are not exact alarms, so they may arrive a little late while the phone sleeps
- The app asks to show notifications only when you switch on your first reminder, and works without them
Honest about dates
Birthdays and anniversaries on 29 February fall on 28 February in other years. Days are counted on the calendar, so the day the clocks change still counts as one day. A "How counting works" page in Settings explains the rules.
Yours, on your phone
No account and no sign-up. Your events, notes and settings stay on your phone only. The event countdown list and the date calculator work without an internet connection (ads need one). Light and dark themes; choose the date format and the first day of the week.
Days Until is free and contains ads: a banner on the events list, the event screen and the date calculator, and an occasional full-screen ad when you open the calculator after saving an event, open an event after a calculation, or come back from sharing. There is never an ad while you are adding or editing an event.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an app that counts down the days to my trip or exam?
Days Until keeps your dates in one list sorted by what comes next and shows how many days are left. Open an event for the big day count, the same time in weeks or months, and a progress bar from the day you added it.
How many business days are there between two dates?
The date calculator in Days Until counts the days between two dates and can count business days only, Monday to Friday, and include the end day. It does not know public holidays, so subtract those yourself.
Is there a birthday countdown app that shows how old someone turns?
Days Until has birthday events that repeat every year and show the age the person turns. You can add a reminder on the day, one day before or one week before, at a time you pick. A 29 February birthday falls on 28 February in other years.
Is Days Until free?
Yes, Days Until is free and contains ads. There are no in-app purchases and no reward videos, so countdowns, reminders and the date calculator are all included. Ads never appear while you add or edit an event.
Can Days Until count up the days since something happened?
Yes. Days Until has a Days since event type that counts up from a date in the past, shown in days and also in years, months and days. Days since events have no reminders, since there is nothing to remind you of.
How is Days Until different from other countdown apps?
Days Until puts countdowns, birthdays, anniversaries, days since and a full date calculator in one app. It explains its rules on a How counting works page, for example that month ends are clamped. It needs no account.
Does Days Until read my calendar or collect my data?
No. Days Until never reads your phone's calendar or contacts, and your events, notes and reminders stay on your phone. It has no server. Only the Google AdMob SDK uses data such as the advertising ID to show ads.
